Codes of the Bible

Over 50 years ago a Rabbi in Czechoslovakia, played around with the idea of taking the Torah and checking to see if there was anything to find by counting every 3rd, 5th, 10th, etc. Letter and adding them together. He painstakingly put all of the Hebrew letters of the 1st book, Genesis, on sheets of paper and then noticed that if he skipped every 50 letters, he found the Hebrew word “Torah” spelled out in the beginning of Genesis. He also found out that it was also spelled out in the beginning of Exodus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. As a novice mathematician, he knew that this was very significant, and something that happened, not by chance, it had to have been intentionally put there, “by God.” He wrote a little about his discovery and it was forgotten.

About 12 years ago a world famous Israeli mathematician, Dr. Eliyahe Rips, heard about it and decided to investigate. He put the Hebrew letters of “Genesis” into the computer and asked it to start checking for word sequences. There were thousands of them. He picked some words and had the computer print them out so that they lined up {top to bottom} and then looked at the letters surrounding the key word. He then found associated phrases, dates, words, etc, that all pertained to the key word, including modern day names, and events. Statistically, he deduced it was impossible for these things to be randomly created and associated.

Therefore, it had to have been placed there, on purpose, by some incredibly intelligent, superior being as messages/warnings to us in the “end of days.” He felt, being a very religious man, that God, through Moses, had left us some very important messages in code, and that only now with the help of computers, would we be able to decipher and understand them. He presented a scientific paper to a major science/mathematics journal on the code where it was confirmed by a battery of skeptical mathematicians to be correct and irrefutable.

A U.S. reporter heard about this and investigated. He became so convinced of the reality of the “Bible Code” that in September 1994 he sent a letter to Yitshak Rabin, Prime Minister of Israel, telling him that the code indicated he would be assassinated during the Jewish year starting in September 1995 by a person named “Amir,” “one of his people” in Tel Aviv. He even flew to Israel to warn Rabin personally, believing that the outcome could be changed, but was not granted audience with Rabin. Of course his letter and he were ignored until on November 4, 1995 Yitshak Rabin was shot from behind by Yigal Amir, an Israeli, in Tel Aviv exactly as the Bible code had described.

The Bible code also predicted that “Netanyahu” would become the next Prime Minister in 1996, and contrary to all pollsters and experts, Benjamin Netanyahu was surprisingly elected on May 19, 1996 over Shimon Peres in the closest Israel election in the country’s history {50.4% vs 49.6%.
